Obituary of Jimmie Fields

Mr. Jimmie Fields, age 96, of Ozark, died March 15, 2006, in a Dothan hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be graveside at 10:00 A. M. Saturday, March 18, 2006, from Gardens of Memory Cemetery near Dothan. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Friday evening. Mr. Fields was born July 29, 1909 in Demer, Mississippi to the late Lennie Jones Fields and Hollis Henry Fields. He served for 21 years in the United States Army during World War II, receiving the Legion of Merritt, the Bronze Star for Valor, and the Combat Infantry Badge. Mr. Fields moved to Newton in 1960 and to Ozark in 1994. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Collins Fields in 2002. Survivors include his brothers; Richard Fields and his wife, Edith of Mobile, Alabama, and Jimmie H. Fields and his wife, Bobby of Gardnerville, Nevada.
