Obituary of Millard R. Davis

Mr. Millard R. (Shine) Davis, 74, of Skipperville, died Wednesday evening, August 24, 2005, in a Dothan hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Saturday, August 27, 2005, at Skipperville United Methodist Church with Reverend Forrest Weekly officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with full Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Friday evening. The body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time on Saturday morning. Mr. Davis was born November 22, 1930 in Dale County. He served in the United States Army and then worked as a helicopter inspector with various maintenance contractors at Fort Rucker until 1972. He served in the Alabama National Guard until his retirement in 1990. He was preceded in death by his father, Millard Filmore Davis, and two sons, Bill Davis and Stephen Davis. Survivors include his wife, Sue Norris Davis, Ozark, one son, Andy Davis and his wife, Anna, Skipperville, his Mother, Willie Mae Davis, Ozark, two granddaughters, Cori Davis and Karissa Dasinger, two grandsons, Brandon Davis and Bryan Macko, one sister, Mary Faye Huey, Skipperville. Four great grandchildren also survive.Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 1152 West Main Street, Dothan, Alabama 36301. Service Information
