Obituary of Albert T. Pierce

Mr. Albert T. Pierce, age 65, of Ozark, died Tuesday morning, August 9, 2005, at his home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Friday, August 12, 2005, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home of Ozark with Reverend Farrell Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P. M. Friday until service time. Otherwise, the family will be at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Angee Pierce, 8098 County Road 54, Echo, Alabama. Mr. Pierce was born in Atlanta, Georgia on February 6, 1940, in Grady Memorial Hospital. He was the youngest of seven children. Mr. Pierce served in the United States Army for three years in Korea. In July 1963 he was hired by Hayes International and worked for 32 years with the various maintenance contractors at Fort Rucker until his medical retirement in May 1995. He held an Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic License from the Alabama Aviation and Technical College and attended Enterprise Community College. Mr. Pierce was a member of IAM Local 2003 in Daleville, Claybank Masonic Lodge #349 in Ozark, Scottish Rites Bodies in Dothan, Alcazar Shriners in Montgomery, and Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Ozark. He was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn Waldron Pierce and George Pierce, Sr., one sister, Barbara Echols, and one brother, George Pierce, Jr. Survivors include his wife Ellen Brazelle Pierce, Ozark, one daughter, Tami Bryant and her husband, Keith, Taylor, Alabama, six sons, Ray Pierce and his wife, Teresa, Enterprise, Rick Pierce, Dothan, Mike Pierce and his wife, Angee, Echo, Bert Pierce and his wife, Tina, Birmingham, Bob Pierce and his wife, Amy, Mabson, and Bart Pierce and his wife, Laura, Birmingham, two sisters, Elizabeth Payne, Suwannee, Georgia, and Velma McLaughlin and her husband, Jim, Doraville, Georgia, two brothers, David Pierce and his wife, Ruby, John Pierce and his wife, Martha, all of Suwannee, Georgia, sixteen grandchildren, Jessica Meservy and her husband, Ian, Lacy Pierce, Rick Pierce, Jr., David Pierce, Kyle Pierce, Kaylie Pierce, David Bryant, Kristen Bryant, Tyler Pierce, Micah Pierce, Elizabeth Grace Pierce, Zach Pierce, Hannah Pierce, Ethan Pierce, Caitlin Pierce, and Nick Pierce. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in this memory to Echo Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 372, Ozark, Alabama 36361. Service Information
