Obituary of Mary Hill Sollie

Ms. Mary Hill Sollie passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2006, in her home surrounded by family. Born May 17, 1958, she was 47. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday, February 23, 2006 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend John D. Reese, III and Reverend Napoleon Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5: 00 P. M. until 7: 00 P. M. Wednesday evening. A native of Ozark, Ms. Sollie was preceded in death by her parents, James and Sallie O'Neal Sollie. She is survived by her children, Alexandria Sollie and partner, James Miller, Jr., and Matthew Harrison; a grandson, Benjamin Sollie-Miller; her siblings, Virginia Sollie, Jim Sollie and his wife, Joan; her nephew, John Sollie and his wife, Holly; a grandnephew, Jake Sollie. She graduated from Carroll High School and Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia, then earned her master's degree from Troy State University. She taught school at Carroll High School and Abbeville Christian Academy before teaching with the Community Intensive Treatment for Youth (C.I.T.Y.) Program of Houston County, Alabama.
