Obituary of Billy Joe Ryder

Mr. Billy Joe Ryder, 76, of Ozark, died Sunday morning, November 7, 2004, in a Dothan hospital following a short illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Thursday, November 11, 2004 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home with Reverend Harold Peters and Reverend Isom Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Wednesday evening. Mr. Ryder was a native of Snyder, Oklahoma and grew up in Indiahoma, Oklahoma. He moved to Ozark in 1953, when Rotary Winged Aircraft started arriving at Fort Rucker. He worked with various contractors retiring in 1995 from DynCorp. Mr. Ryder was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Ozark. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Wilson Ryder, Ozark, one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Reverend Harold Peters, Ozark, one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Amy Morgan, Griffin, Georgia, five sisters, Margaret Wynema New, Valois Shuler, Sharon Phelps, Sandra Hannington, and Shirleta Bennefield, three brothers, A. J. Ryder, Bobby Ryder, and Jerry Lee Ryder. Four Grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.
