Mr. William L. "Bill" Corn, 82, of Ozark, died Friday afternoon, November 5, 2004, at his home. The family will receive friends at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark from 3:00 P. M. until 5:00 P. M. Sunday afternoon, November 7, 2004. Funeral services for Mr. Corn will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, November 9, 2004, at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens, South Carolina, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to service time at the cemetery. Interment will follow with full Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mr. Corn was born October 31, 1922 in Oconee County, South Carolina to the late Eula Hardin Corn and Adam Corn. He served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years during World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War, receiving the following awards and medals: Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Commendation Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theatre Medal (2 Bronze Stars), Philippine Liberation Medal, Korean Service Medal (2 Bronze Stars), United Nations Service Medal, and the Southeast Asia Expeditionary Forces Medal. Mr. Corn worked as a mechanic with Pemco Air Services for 10 years, and was a member of Woodmen of the World for 39 years. Survivors include his wife, Nellie Dennis Corn, Ozark, one son, William Reno Corn, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Wynell and Jesse Reese, Keela and Michael Deets, and Carmell Corn, two sisters, Thelma Carter and Marlene Durham, six grandchildren, Caroline Suleman, Corey Stevens, Alexis and Zachary Deets, McKinley and Sydney Green. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alacare Home Health and Hospice, 3763 Ross Clark Circle, Suite #1, Dothan, Alabama 36303.
