Mrs. Mary Ellen Davis Grice, age 90, of Ozark, formerly of Ariton, died Monday, May 30, 2005 in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation where she had lived since July 2000. Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Thursday, June 2, 2005, from Ariton United Methodist Church with Reverend Franklin Bird and Reverend Hugh Owen officiating. Interment will follow in Ariton Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at Holman Funeral Home in Ozark from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Wednesday afternoon, June 1, 2005. Mrs. Grice was born September 14, 1914 in the Texasville Community of Barbour County to the late Dora Smith Davis and William Taylor Davis. She had lived in Ariton during her adult life where she was a homemaker and a faithful member of Ariton United Methodist Church. She worked for a short period of time at Fort Rucker in the enlisted men's cafeteria. Mrs. Grice was loved by her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Lloyd Grice, one sister, Ruby Davis Watson, and two brothers, Willie Davis and Floyd Davis. Survivors include two sons, Max Grice and his wife, Martha, Mobile, Alabama, and Wayne Grice and his wife, Janell, Hartwell, Georgia, her twin brother, Lloyd Davis and his wife, Hilda, Columbus, Georgia, five grandchildren, Kim Mitchell, Russell Grice, Greg Grice, Lee Grice, and Dee DiBona, eight great grandchildren, four nieces, and three nephews. Max and Wayne Grice would like to express their utmost gratitude to Ozark Health and Rehabilitation for creating a home away from home for their Mother for almost five years. She participated in most activities at the facility. She was voted Ms. Ozark Nursing Facility in 2001, and was in the top ten of the Ms. Alabama State Nursing Facility.
