Obituary of Louie W. Peters

Mr. Louie W. Peters, age 90, of Ozark died early Sunday morning, February 18, 2007, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, February 20, 2007, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Reverend William Hart, Reverend Harry Circle and Reverend Timothy Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Monday evening. Mr. Peters was born April 28, 1916 in Dale County to the late Matilda Jane Godwin Peters and Rassie Peters. He was a lifetime member and past deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and a retired farmer. He also retired from Phillip Van Heusen following more than 20 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Peters was preceded in death by his wife, Lorena Outlaw Peters, his grandson, Winkie Outlaw, four sisters, Eva Paramore, Annie Merle Andrews, Frances Blocker and Bessie Goodson, and four brothers, Fred Peters, E. R. "Doc" Peters, R. E. Peters, and Collis Peters. Mr. Peters is survived by: three daughters, Shirley Walker and her husband, Royce, of Ozark, Cathy Outlaw and her husband, Joe of Ozark, and Sybil Kelley and her husband, Ronnie, of Dothan, one brother, Billy Peters of Ozark, eight grandchildren, Greg Walker of Ozark, Gordon and Lissa Walker of Tuscaloosa, Gwyn and Tim Galloway of Skipperville, Gary and Lynda Walker of Ozark, Robyn and Will Mathison of Dothan, Lindsey Heath of Dothan, Ami Heath of Dothan, Mollie Kelley of Dothan, twelve great grandchildren, Brent Walker, Kristin Walker, Ryne Walker, Alycia Galloway, Cara Galloway, Orin Galloway, Alex Mirabito, Amy Mirabito, Claudia Walker, Callie Mathison, Laurie Mathison, and Lanie Heath. The family has requested the omission of food and flowers. Memorials may be made in his memory to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church or Cemetery Fund, 1124 County Road 11, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
