Mrs. Janet Davey Dent, age 73, of Newton, died early Wednesday morning, September 20, 2006, at her home. A private interment will be in Newton City Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mrs. Dent was born August 22, 1933 in Teddington, England to the late Ada Ellen Purdy Davey and Horace Davey. She was a graduate of Alabama Aviation and Technical College in Ozark where she received her Airframe and Power Plant License. She worked in the aviation industry in Ozark for several years. Mrs. Dent was preceded in death by two daughters, Jeannie Dent and Jessica Dent. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, James E. Dent of Newton, two daughters, Jolene Johnson and her husband, Phillip of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Tina Nelson and her husband, Thomas of Dothan, three sons, James Dent, Jr. and his wife, Sue of Kansas City, Missouri, Johnathan Dent and his wife, Kathy of Newton, and Perry Dent of Newton. Eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survive.
