Mr. Harry L. (H.L.) Williams, age 62, of Ozark, died Friday, February 2, 2007, at this home following an extended illness. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P. M. Sunday, February 4, 2007, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Chula Vista, Alabama with his son, Roger Williams officiating. Holman Funeral Home of Ozark will be handling local arrangements. Mr. Williams was born February 24, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Bernice Woodley Williams and Harry Williams. H. L. attended Curry Grammer School and Woodlawn High School. Mr. Williams served in the United States National Guard for three years, and worked as a mechanic in Birmingham until becoming disabled in 1996, moving to Ozark in 1990. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, an avid baseball card and coin collector, and loved to travel. In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his brothers, Leslie Williams, Wesley Williams, his sister, Christine Williams Hardin, and his brother, Marshall Williams. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, LaRue Lathem Williams of Ozark, one daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Steven McDaniel of Odenville, Alabama, one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Barbie Williams of Talladega, Alabama, one sister, Peggy Riley of Ozark, and five grandchildren, Stephanie McDaniel, Tiffany McDaniel, Steven McDaniel, Cody Williams, and Gabrielle Williams.
