Mr. Curtis Loyd Chancey, age 74, of Ozark, died early Tuesday evening, August 16, 2005, at his home following a brief illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 A. M. Friday, August 19, 2005, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Thomas Leggett, Reverend Albert Hunt, and Reverend John Bryan officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3:00 P. M. Thursday until service time on Friday. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Thursday evening. Mr. Chancey was born July 15, 1931 in Ozark to the late Effie Sullivan Chancey and Curtis P. Chancey. He attended the Dale County School System and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Civil Service following 25 years. He was a member of Westview Heights United Methodist Church, an avid cattleman, and a devoted husband, father, and brother. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Valeta Riley Chancey, one daughter, Dr. Carol Chancey, and one sister, Shirley Chancey all of Ozark.
