Obituary of Sam Howell Wood

Mr. Sam Howell Wood, age 79, of Ozark, died Sunday afternoon, November 27, 2005 in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center. A service for Mr. Wood will be held at a later date to be announced through Holman Funeral Home of Ozark. Mr. Wood was born December 12, 1925 in the Echo Community to the late Epsie Louvinia Mills Wood and Samuel Augusta Wood. He lived in the Grimes Community during his younger years and entered the United States Navy, serving during World War II. He worked with Ford Motor Company in St. Louis, Missouri as a plumber and electrician until his retirement. Mr. Wood has made his home with his sister, Thelma Baldwin, for the past fourteen months. He was of the Methodist Faith. He was preceded in death by the Mother of his children, Roslyn Levy Wood in the late 1970's, by his wife, Dorothy Renshaw Wood in August of 2004, and by his daughter, Cindy Wood Gottschalk in May of 2004. Survivors include one daughter, Pat Collett, Salt Lake City, Utah, one son, Douglas H. Wood and his wife, Bonnie, Williams, Arizona, one son-in-law, George Gottschalk, St. Louis, Missouri, three sisters, Thelma Baldwin, Ozark, Alma Dean, Esto, Florida, and Merle Butler, Lovetown, Alabama. Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive. Service Information
