Obituary of Argelia Velazquez Cruz

Mrs. Argelia Velazquez Cruz, age 84, of Ozark, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, in Dale Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Friday, January 13, 2006, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Richard Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Thursday evening. Mrs. Cruz was born January 2, 1922 in Puerto Rico and had lived in the United States for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Cruz, two sisters, and two brothers. Survivors include nine children, Antonia Figueroa and spouse, Esteban, Puerto Rico; Felicita Correa and spouse, Manuel, Puerto Rico; Luis Antonio Cruz and spouse, Loretta, New York; Jose Alberto Cruz and spouse, Vivian, Florida; Gladys Lugo and spouse, Rafael, Puerto Rico; Milady Gonzalez and spouse, Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; Nilsa A. Hall and spouse, Bobby M., Ozark, Alabama; Amilda King and her spouse, Steven, Ozark, Alabama; Richard F. Cruz and spouse, Mary Elizabeth, Puerto Rico. 27 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
