Obituary of John Arthur Hinderliter

Mr. Hinderliter was born September 27, 1919 in Johnetta, Pennsylvania, the son of James Blaine and Mary Alma Bigalow Hinderliter. In 1936 he entered the United States Army branch which was later known as the Army Air Corp, and then the United States Air Force. He served during World War II and the Korean Conflict, retiring in 1959. Following his retirement from the military service, he worked with Civil Service at Fort Rucker as a Weapons and Munitions Expert, retiring after ten years. He then worked for two years with the Dale County Sheriffs Department, and for thirteen years with the Ozark Police Department. He was a member of Westview Heights United Methodist Church, lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, Fraternal Order of Police, the Alabama Police Officer Association, the Air Force Sergeants Association, and was a Master Mason.Mr. Hilderliter was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Charles Edward (Ed) Hilderliter, Jr., four brothers, and three sisters.
