I am so sorry about Merle. We were out of town and didn't get to visit and meet you all. I have met Celeste. My story is an unusual one. I met Merle in McRae's store several years ago and got to talking and come to find out, she knew all about my family, even tho we had moved to Georgia over 65 years ago. She was so special and one of the sweetest ladies I've ever know. My family and I visited several times. We loved Lester and Merle.God bless you all.

As we grew up together, and kept in touch as we had our families, Merle was always busy sharing her love, asking about family, giving vegetables and fruits she had sown, harvested, and preserved with NEVER a thought of, or for herself. What a witness she was and how surprised I believe she will be with the many wonderful pleasures she now enjoys. She made me, and I believe many others, want to live and be "More Like the Master." Selfishly I wonder, who could ever fill her void. That is where beautiful memories become so valued.

Rodney, Tim and Family: Ms. Merle was a very special lady. I have so many fond memories growing up and going to see her and Mr. Lester, and then visiting with them as time went on. I can hear her calling my name right now, as she was only one of a couple of people that ever called me Barbara Gail... I will miss her phone calls and our talks. I know she is having a time of her life in heaven with Mr. Lester, her sister, mom and dad, and of course my dad. Ms. Merle, I love you and will miss you so much but I know you are in a better place. Rodney and Tim please know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers. I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!

Merle was my favorite cousin of all time. I had so many laughs with her and talk with her at least once a week. She confided in me as much as I confided in her. She always listened and made me fesl so loved. I've tried for the last 2 weeks to get her and she never returned my calls. God, I:m going to miss her. I LOVE YOU, Merle and I know God has a special angel in you. I'll see you again one day so until then I love you so. Aways, Betty
