Obituary of Merle Blackmon Logan

Mrs. Merle Blackmon Logan, age 83, of Ozark, died Monday morning, June 25, 2012, at her home.
Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Thursday, June 28, 2012, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Reverend William Hart officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M.
Mrs. Logan was born December 2, 1928 in the Haw Ridge Community of Western Dale County, daughter of the late Willie Blackmon and Gladys Danner Blackmon. She married Lester Logan in 1949 and raised two sons on the family farm near Rocky Head. She was also employed with the White Knight Manufacturing Co. in Ozark for 20 years. Mrs. Logan was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, enjoyed gardening and cooking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Lester William Logan; and her sister, Charlene Blackmon Bowstring.
She is survived by two sons, Rodney Logan and his wife Celestine, Dr. Tim Logan and his wife Vicki;
three grandchildren, Robert Logan, Christopher Logan and his wife Brittany, and Patrick Logan.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1124 County Road 11, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
