Just a story of how the name Big Momma came to be. I came into the family 48 years ago expecting Loretta first grandchild. Loretta asked me one day Darlene what did you call your grandmothers. I told her one was grandma and the other I called Big Momma so she decided that her grandchild was gonna call her Big Momma. Loretta told me you gave birth to Jason but he belonged to her. There was always a strong bond between Big Momma and Jason. I was blessed to have had such a wonderful person in my life that loved my son so much the way she did.

What can you say about a person that has been such a friend over the years. Loretta was one of the most thoughtful people you would ever know, remembering birthdays and special occasions in your life not to mention all the special Butternut cakes she would deliver to you. We know her soul is resting in peace with our Heavenly Father, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with all her family that have preceded her. May Danny, Derick and all the grandchildren receive your comfort through your faith. We thank God for the life of Loretta Casey Carroll.

Danny and Derick, I am so sorry to hear of Loretta's passing. She and mom and Jeanette and Wathetta sure had alot of fun together. I know you will miss her so much. She was one of a kind and will be missed. My prayers are with you.

Love and prayers Danny and family. I have fond memories of Ms. Loretta from church and from visiting her at home. She always had a hug and a peck on the cheek for me. I could count on getting a sweet card in the mail. She with be greatly missed.

Loretta and her family bought the house next to my family shortly after we moved here. That was 1965. Our two families are like a blended family. We have shared our successes and our failures , our gains and our losses, our sorrows and our joys.. Danny and myself are the only ones left living here. It will be lonely but we know we will rejoin our blended family in heaven.
