Obituary of Loretta Casey Carroll
Mrs. Loretta Casey Carroll, a resident of Ozark, died Thursday, October 24, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. She was 89 years old.
Funeral services for Mrs. Carroll will be 10:00 A. M. Tuesday, October 29, 2024, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Joel Lancaster and Reverend Joe Glover officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Ozark Monday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P. M. Serving as pallbearers will be Dillon Wilson, Jason Wilson, Lee Peters, Ricky Parrish, Eddy Parker and Steve Nall.
Mrs. Carroll was born August 3, 1935 in Barbour County, Alabama to the late Emmett O’Neal Casey and Eleanor Juanita Carr Casey. Mrs. Carroll graduated from Barbour County High School. She worked with Dr. Quattlebaum in Ozark as a Dental Assistant for many years and later with the glove factory in Brundidge. Loretta grew up in Southside Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and with a trio. Loretta was a member of New Tabernacle Church in Coffee County. She loved to cook and bake cakes for her friends at Holman Funeral Home. She was affectionately referred to as “Big Momma”. Loretta enjoyed fishing, flowers and sending get-well cards as a ministry. She loved her grandchildren and her kitties, Jaybird and Sadie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Wathetta Casey Moore and one grandchild, Daphne Kaylee Wilson.
She is survived by two sons, Danny Wilson of Ozark and Derick Wilson (Kay) of the Edwin Community; two grandchildren, William Jason Wilson (Anna) of Ringgold, Georgia and Dillon Keith Wilson (Jordan) of Headland; one great grandchild, Derek Cole Wilson of LaFayette, Georgia; and one special family friend, Rex L. Miller of Montgomery.
