Ms. Catherine Lynn “Cathy” Luckfield Cole, 67, of Dothan, formerly of Ozark, died Monday, October 31, 2016.
There are no plans for a public service at this time.
Cathy was born March 26, 1949 in Havre de Grace, Maryland to the late Colonel Herbert Milton Luckfield and Mary Ann Mash Luckfield. She graduated from Carroll High School in 1967 and received her B. A. Degree from Barry University. She enjoyed a career in Television News and Production. Cathy also was active as a consultant in the political arena. She designed fine jewelry and had her own collection “The Cathy Cole Collection”. She was a passionate defender of downtown Dothan and served as executive director of the Downtown Group in Dothan for seven years until 2011. Cathy was instrumental in helping put pieces of downtown back together when the city had to decide whether to invest in revitalization or not. During her time as executive director the downtown Christmas Festival began and grew, the Festival of Murals was rebranded and became the Mural City Art Walk, and the Poplar Head Farmers Market began downtown. Cathy saw beauty in life and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
