Obituary of Carl Edward Hefner

Mr. Carl Edward Hefner, age 86, of Ozark, died Saturday, March 24, 2012, at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, March 27, 2012, from Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Reverend Craig Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 12:30 P. M. until service time. Mr. Hefner was born June 14, 1925 in Hickory, North Carolina. He worked as an aircraft technician at Fort Rucker for many years. He was a member and Deacon of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, a Shriner and a Mason. Mr. Hefner enjoyed playing dominos and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Julia Richardson Hefner; one sister, Ava Hefner; three brothers, Ted Hefner, Troy Hefner, and Charles Hefner. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Dale Nash of Dothan; one granddaughter, Krissy Atkinson and her husband, Brian, of Dothan; one great granddaughter, Ella Atkinson of Dothan; one sister, Mae Honeycutt of Hickory, North Carolina.
